Calm Money Home: UK Moving Costs

A UK app showing the true monthly cost of a place to rent or buy, with bill splits, an affordability check and a moving checklist.

£10.79 on EtsyUK price, VAT included. Instant download, nothing is posted.

Before you sign, see what a place really costs each month, all in: rent or mortgage, council tax, energy, water, broadband, TV licence, insurance and your commute, with your share if you live with others. Then compare places, split the bills fairly, check what you can afford and plan the move.

If it doesn't open, doesn't work on your device or isn't as described, message us on Etsy and we'll fix it or refund you.

Every Calm Money app has the whole budget inside. Compare the Calm Money apps.

What it does

  • Works out the true cost of a place to rent or to buy; every estimate is labelled and every figure can be typed over
  • Compares up to 4 places side by side, rent and buy mixed, ranked by your share and by cost per person per 100 sq ft
  • Costs a place shared (2 to 8 people) or lived in alone, including the 25% single person discount on council tax
  • Splits household bills equally, by percentage or by room, and shows who owes whom each month
  • Checks affordability, with rent or mortgage as a share of take-home pay (33% comfortable and a 40% watch line to start)
  • Plans the move with a moving fund target, a dated moving checklist from 8 weeks before to 2 weeks after, and a viewing checklist for each place

What you get

  • A Start here PDF with your private link to the full Calm Money Home, how to add it to your Home Screen, and how to bring your demo numbers across
  • A how-to guide (PDF) covering every screen step by step, with pictures
  • Lifetime updates: new versions arrive by themselves when you open it online
  • Personal licence for your own devices

Good to know

  • Opens in your browser and adds to your Home Screen like an app; works offline once added
  • No account, no login and no subscription; everything stays on your device unless you turn on Sync or the usage count, so download a backup now and then
  • Figures are estimates from public rates and typical use, so your real bills will differ; rates can be seen and changed
  • Rent vs buy and the affordability check are guides, not financial or mortgage advice
